I am having my 2 lower wisdom teeth removed as one is growing wonky and the other is growing under bone(!?) This is being done privately and the dentist has offered me general or local. How much should I expect to pay and is it worth paying the extra for general? Thanks!
Wisom Teeth Extraction Cost?
on the nhs this procedure wouldn't cost any more than £189 although they wouldn't give you a general. privately you'd be looking at about £195 each tooth and you might get a general. you should opt for sedation instead of general it just as good with less risk.
good luck
Reply:yes you can get it done privately cheaper in the uk,
www.gdc-uk.org click general public then click search specialist list, then search by area and choose oral surgery. or call the gdc (general dental council) on +44 (0) 20 7887 3800 and they should be able to find one for you.
hope this helps Report It
Reply:I had an upper wisdom removed with local anaesthetic and was charged about £45 with my NHS dentist but I think this varies depending on where you are.
I would recommend going for the general if you are having both done at the same time.
Reply:My wisdom teeth being pulled cost me $800 with dental insurance. And yes, I would definitely have some sort of anesthetic. My dentist actually put me out for the surgery, it's not like just pulling teeth, it is a surgery. And be ready for a week's worth of pain afterward. Good luck.
Reply:You could get this done in Hospital (far safer given how embedded your wisdoms are) and on the NHS. Don't let your Dentist con you! It may mean a waiting list but if you have no pain why worry? You would get the same offers of anaesthesia on the NHS and have an overnight stay for safety reasons. You should also be given post-op antibiotics and painkillers. Remember Waiting lists are nothing like they used to be and private Dentists are all about the money!
Reply:no idea bout prices, i had all 4 of mine removed, best thing i ever did, as i was hurting ALL the time..
i had a general, as didnt want to be awake..
this was 19 yrs ago.. and was on the NHS then.. im private now,and dread to think of the cost you will have to pay!
good luck..x
Reply:The price varies from practice to practice, it be from £60 - £160 depends where you go, I would have general for a tooth extraction it can be dangerous to have general it is not worth rising your health for an extraction if I was you I would go for sedation you will remember nothing feel no pain and it is safer
Reply:With insurance, it cost me a little under $800 for all 4 to be removed. Two impacted (1 fully and 1 partially), 2 fully out. I got the general anestesia (iv) and didn't feel a thing. No pain and zero memory of it. I liked it because I went in w/it and out w/o. The whole thing took 1/2 hour. Good luck!
Reply:i just had 4 of mine removed last week ..it was a surgery cause they werent ouuta the gums yet..it cost me about $1700 canadian dollars..
