Dental advice?

51 -F- Allergy to Sulfa, and the Primer used for artificial nails. Dental work patient, ie, crowns, pin build-ups, root canals, extractions, bridges.

Problem is: 10/06 I began restoration treatment at a new-to-me dentist, crowns, extractions, prep for a partial, comp fillings. Each visit for dental work, I am having unusual swelling of my soft tissue near topical/local anesthesia. Dr. says he has tried several types of locals. Long appointments. (2-3 hours) The latest visit (02-2007) he applied 3 crowns in one area, and composites on another area. The following day I had substantial external swelling near the mandibular block, between cheek and teeth lower right side I had what looked like acid burns, my gum line where the crowns were cemented turned white and lightly bled. My tongue on that side became swollen and rutted, I developed ulcers on the under side of my tongue, the side became rutted, and lip discolored. Never had this before , is it the methylparaben? topical? Local?

Dental advice?
Actually, this is something you need to ask your dentist. Ask him/her what exactly each thing they are doing is doing and how it's going to help. What is the expected risk of each thing and what are the expected outcomes. With how complex it sounds, (s)he may need to get into biology to explain.
