Is it just me but sometimes when I visit the dentist it’s like paying a visit to the local car garage. You know when you go in for one thing looking at but end up coming out with the full monty!
What’s all that about? Surely you should have a say on what work you want doing? Especially if you’re paying.
Do all dentists mean well?
I think they do mean well, but I know what you are talking about. I've had several dentists that just do what they think you need done with no discussion of cost at all. When they are done I'm left paying the bill. I wish they could let you know this stuff up front and also be good enough to see how much your insurance will pay upfront. The good ones do this. I've had several that don't do this though.
Reply:Well, of course they do mean well because they try and fix your teeth, but most of the time they get really pricey and annoying...
Reply:Some do it to help, some do it for the money, while other do it for both. I do know what your talking about, I went in for a cleaning and came out with fillings lol. But they take the action they feel is needed, most of the time. And you could tell them you don't want it done.
Reply:Of course you have a say-so, but he has a moral and ethical obligation to tell you what he feels that you need, in order to properly restore your teeth. If you don't want he work, don't agree to it.
