Are there different types of dental sedation??

Hi everyone.

well basically im a total wuss with needles, teeth, mouths, dentists and even the chair. so when i had 2 have 2 extractions in hospital i was pleased. i went into the room crying and screaming lol but once they gave m\e valium i went dizzy for a second then i was gone...the next thing i new the oral surgeon was saying i had done so well and he'd just stitched me up. I feel a little more comfortable now with teeth and have to have a filling soon...allthough would still opt for a sedation in the dentist. I watched the programme 'britains worst teeth' and the guy was given vbalium and local anasetic like me...only..he was groaning screaming crying etc.. so now im wondering whether they use a higher dose in hospital. please ikf you no anything about this get back 2 me. also does anyone no the average price for private sedation?

Are there different types of dental sedation??
yeah, they can put you under or they can do conscious sedation. either way, you won't remember anything. it is harder for dentists to work on you when you are all the way out. they normally do that for wisdom teeth.
