How come nobody has questioned why Clemens would get a shot of lidocaine in their rear end?

Clemens claims that his trainer injected him with vitamins and with lidocaine.

Lidocaine is a local anesthetic.

If you have an aching joint, intecting a bunch into the joint might relieve pain, but for a short time and I'd really want an orthopaedic surgeon to do it, or else you might damage cartilage with the needle.

But sticking it in your a$$? It will numb your a$$ and not travel around to your joints. If you inject enough to get into your joints it will probably stop your heart from beating.

Lidocaine is a lot like the novocaine that your dentist uses. The dentist injects it into your jaw, not into your a$$, right?

I haven't heard anyone in the media question this statement. Why don't they talk to a doctor for a minute and find out it is BS.

If you have muscle pain you can also get muscle spasms. This is a vicious cycle. Pain causes spasms and spasms lead to more pain and more spasms and so on.

The idea is to break the cycle - and lidocaine and other pain killers can help with this. Yes, the lidocaine is short acting but if it temporarily blocks the pain, physical therapy can then deal with the spasms.

However, none of this should be done without a doctor- and this doesn't have to be a surgeon. MDs who specialize in physical medicine are capable of doing this.
Reply:It's all nothing but a McCarthy type witch hunt with hearsay evidence.

Who cares. It's over......if they didn't do anything then yet knew all about it, why bring it all up? It serves no purpose other than to have politicians working on stuff they like instead stuff that needs to be fixed, like our economy, health care, the war.

Now MLB clean up your act, let's move on and our leaders should stop wasting taxpayers money on this. There are so many other important issues our government should be working on.
Reply:Someone's got a "hard on" for Clemens the same way they do for Pete Rose, and this whole thing is going to run its course.

Even though nothings been proven, I don't believe a word he says....
Reply:Lidocaine is close relative of cocaine. If you are given an intravenous dose you will not be unhappy about anything. been there, done that.
