Cheating dentists?

anyone been cheated at a dentist? i have been done so twice in the past 2 yrs and i feel upset knowing they can do that to patients. i had a checkup that included a scale and polish (to make you teeth look clean and white) but i never had it done which i later found out by talking to my mum. it was a 1.5 min check up for £15.50 and i feel upset how they can do this to me. the receptionist said i dint need it but how does she know the *****. it seems as though thhey're making money from us NHS paying patients. i complained and said i want a scale and polish and i wont pay for it as ive paid for it before. but they refused. my teeth are bad and bet anyone just looking at them can say they are. how do i complain and if i do, are they going to take it serious or is the manager corrupt too. if so who do i tell, my local MP or councillor? any ideas or suggestions? thanx

Cheating dentists?
Because of the shortage in NHS dentists nothing will be done.

I currently cannot eat anything that isn't liquid due to a problem with an implant on both sides because I'm a diabetic I've had to drink a lot of lucozade (fizzy sugar drink) to stabilise my sugar levels. My dentist refused to treat me until I went 6 months without lucozade which obviously I couldn't so I have no dental treatment and haven't eaten anything solid in nearly 2 years.

No-one cares what a NHS dentist does as long as he is treating NHS patients
Reply:Complain to your MP, thats what they're there for. You could set up a web site for this sort of thing (with an online petition) too. You could always threaten the practice that you will take it to the media, that might do the trick! Kick up a fuss girl, its your right!
Reply:Go to a different dentist, and alert your insurance/NHS about the dentist for potential fraud. It's not quite legal to claim a procedure was done which wasn't.
Reply:Your relationship with your dentist is second only to that of your spouse/partner in my opinion. The dude wants to prod about inside your mouth, that's heavy trust for my money. And having found a dentist I do trust to do that - my instincts tell me I can trust them to get the bill right also.

Citizen's Advice Bureau for advice.
Reply:your mp should help but also there are primary care trusts in each area so contact yours as they have a complaints proceedure and are obliged to find you another dentist. if you need emergency treatment ring NHS direct on 0845 46 47
Reply:Change your dentist.
