Should America make a standard price for each different medicines?

OK.. Now this shows how bad America is on pricing medicines..

My girl friend had two teeth extracted and found that she had an infection that needed taking care of. She doesn't have medical coverage so she has to pay out of pocket.

The dentist proscribed Clindamycin for her seeing she is allergic to penicillin. She called..

WalMart.. $85 for 30 pills

RiteAid. $65

Kinney Drugs.. $35

Dobbins.. Local Pharmacy.. $16

Heck of a difference.. All generic..

I woke up.. OUCH.. I had a toothache.. Hurt like an SOB...

Walmart, RiteAid, Kinney.. For Orajel or simular product.. $6.99-$7.99 for Benzocaine 20%

Local J.J Newbury.. $1.00 generic.. But same active ingredient.. Benzocaine 20%.. Worked like a charm too.. Wasn't out dated or anything..

This is really sad, And I feel for the poor and elderly.

Something should really be done about this.

Whats your comments?

Should America make a standard price for each different medicines?
yes
Reply:No. Doing so would actually cause a LOT of harm to the economy and many fewer medicines would even be developed. I do not believe in price fixing of ANY kind. If it's too much money, then DON'T BUY IT.
Reply:yep i think so
Reply:yeah
Reply:There should be no generic medicine. It keeps new medicine from being developed. Brand name medicine however should never cost more than two dollars a pill Canadian :) By the way, I would never pay that for antibiotics. Pull the tooth :)
Reply:Hi emanon! I like your answer.

Rory Emerald is a world famous prankster %26amp; Hollywood personality. Some people know that %26amp; I guess some people don't. I'm glad you know who Dudley Do-Right is. The connection between Dudley %26amp; Rory is simply that the creator of Dudley Do-Right, Jay Ward, was friends with Rory %26amp; dedicated a lot of his comic books to Rory. Everytime I link Rory with "whoever" there is always some connection somewhere. HAPPY SPRING!!!
