Do wealthier people have better health insurance than poorer people?

I am researching insurance, but do wealthier people have better insurance than poorer people? I went to a dentist and I have a few cavities and one tooth has to be extracted. The total dental bill isn't too much money for me. How do I afford a $3000 + tooth implant or two set bridge? . My parents can afford that, but I can't. Do cheap insurance plans cover $30000 + dental operations? I called a local insurance agent and he said $244.50/month insurance is the best he can do. That is way too much money for me. Ultimately, this is all my fault. I have not been to a dentist in 10years and I was unaware that I must visit a dentist every year.

Not always. Wealthier individuals can afford the $3000 + tooth implant while others cannot. It also depends on your job--my husband isn't wealthy by any means, but our insurance is wonderful.
Reply:No, they don't have better insurance in most case.

Dental insurance is a joke anyway, as they pay very little on each procedure. It is not unusual to have a $10,000+ dental bill with the insurance company paying only a few hundred dollars and you paying the rest.
Reply:All dental insurance only pays a small portion. I have it but I've often thought I would be better just banking the premium each month.
Reply:Heck no.....the poor people get insurance for free. It is called Medicaid and it coves medical/dental and vision!! And they dont have to pay a dime for it. But they also make a lot less than most. I think that people that have to pay for insurance, should reap the benefits and not get stiffed with such high bills!! After all you are supposed to get what you pay for!! It is ridiculous!!
Reply:Most health insurance plans don't cover dental - that's usually a separate plan. Many people have dental insurance through their employer, but there are lots of people, wealthy or not, who don't have dental insurance.
Reply:Dental insurance is always seperate. I've never seen a private dental plan that will EVER pay more than it takes in - it's NEVER a good deal.

Wealthy people tend to own their own businesses, and have group plans to cover them and their employees. That would be, group dental, because medical NEVER covers dental stuff like you're talking about.

So that health plan he's referring you to, is about right, for health insurance. It doesn't get cheaper than that, but it also doesn't cover dental.

But keep in mind, going without HEALTH insurance can put you in the same kind of bind - only more serious - than going without DENTAL insurance has done.

Talk to your dentist about a finance agreement for the work you need done.
Reply:I agree with most of what has been said here. Dental insurance is separate that health. Most dental policies cover limited stuff. Etc.

The only reason I posted was to bring up one point. You should go to the dentist every 6 months, not yearly. It may cost you a bit up front, but it will save you in the long run.
