Hospital, or chair?

would you rather have your wisdom teeth taken out in the hospital, or let the dentist do it in the chair with local stuff?

Hospital, or chair?
I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed in a dentist office, and I was awake for the whole ordeal. Being awake was so much easier, then when I was put to sleep for a prior bicuspid teeth removal, i did not have to deal with the after effects from the meds they give you to put you to sleep. So I would go to a dentist office and I would be wide awake for the ordeal!!!!
Reply:i had mine done at dentists office in the chair but I made them put me to sleep. Thank god I did because mine were hard to remove
Reply:It really depends on the dentist. Some dentists won't pull wisdom teeth if the nerve is running through or near the tooth, if this is the case you will have to see an oral surgeon.
Reply:When you go to the hospital, you are still getting your teeth extracted in a dental chair by either a resident dentist or an oral surgeon interim. In my own opinion, I feel that when getting teeth extracted in the hospital, the dentists tend to rush a bit because there are so many emergency patients who are in severe pain waiting for extraction. I saw a oral surgeon who extracted 4 molars in just 30 mins; however, the patient had an unpleasant time. Patient’s comfort and pain control are not their main concern. As in the private office, the dentist will take the time talking to the patient and address their concern. If the tooth is exposed and appears to be easily removable in one piece, the dentist may perform an extraction with forceps and local anesthetic. However, he or she may refer a difficult extraction to an oral surgeon, a specialist who administers either nitrous oxide-oxygen (commonly called "laughing gas"), an intravenous sedative, or a general anesthetic to alleviate any pain or discomfort during the surgical procedure. This is just my own opinion.
