anyone been cheated at a dentist? i have been done so twice in the past 2 yrs and i feel upset knowing they can do that to patients. i had a checkup that included a scale and polish (to make you teeth look clean and white) but i never had it done which i later found out by talking to my mum. it was a 1.5 min check up for £15.50 and i feel upset how they can do this to me. the receptionist said i dint need it but how does she know the *****. it seems as though thhey're making money from us NHS paying patients. i complained and said i want a scale and polish and i wont pay for it as ive paid for it before. but they refused. my teeth are bad and bet anyone just looking at them can say they are. ive worked that one out easily. how do i complain and if i do, are they going to take it serious or is the manager corrupt too. if so who do i tell, my local MP or councillor? any ideas or suggestions? thanx
Cheating dentists?
get a second opinion from another dentist and just out of curiosity ask him how long it would take to do that procedure then if your satisfied with the answers i would find me an attorney.
Reply:forget about it
Reply:In America there is an American Dental Association . Try finding out who regulates dentists in your country and ask them for advice. A license to practice is usually at stake for them Dentists are humans - some are good and some take advantage.Billl padding is for services not done can be fault of the person doing the billing but the dentist should be aware of what bills are charged.

Reply:This is pretty much the norm. They're always out to make money.
If you ask them for a cosmetic procedure they'll take you to the cleaners, they can just make up the numbers.
but £15.50 is not bad for some places.
But if you see someone with nice teeth always work into the conversation about their dentist you might find a better one.
Reply:i went to the dentist on tuesday, i had my teeth cleaned by the hygienist then a filling 1 was with the hygienist for half an hour and the dentist for half an hour whilst i had the filling and it cost £148.00
