okay im 17 and live in SE Michigan
i do have a little job experience ( I worked for my dad...typing data in computer)
Benefit of a the job is the money but my family is taking at least two vacations during the summer so i wouldn't be able to work for 2 weeks
Benefit of volunteering is that its good for college and has flexible hours but has no money ( i would volunteer at a hospital)
If i do get a job, part-time?????????
also, i would like to become a dentist
do you think i should help out or shadow a local dentist?????
Should i voulunteer or get a job?
Get a part time job at a dentist's office. Just when they need extra help, filling in when staff is on vacation during the summer. You get flexibility, good job experience and still get paid.
Reply:I think your last idea is the best. Shadowing a dentist will give you experience in the field you want to be in. If you shadow different specialties you could even see which one you are most interested in. Second best would be to volunteer. If you are going to have vacation issues and money isn't a necessity then help out the world by offering your time.
Reply:Volunteers carry this world !!
Nothing is more rewarding than self satisfaction, that feeling you get inside for actually doing something for someone, without any pay, or asking anything in return is one that not enough people have the skills or the ♥ to do.
My advice is to volunteer as much as you can, then later on when you are more settled, you may find something that you love %26amp; get paid for it too!
