About how much does it cost to have a tooth extracted?

My husband has a bad tooth, and he really needs to see the dentist, but we have no insurance. He showed it to me for the first time tonight, and it's much worse than the original cavity that I thought he had, so I'm fairly certain that capping it completely or having it extracted are his only options.

We will have to pay for it when he goes, and I am going to call in the morning to see what our local dentist offices quote us, but if anyone has any idea how much I should expect to hear, please let me know!

About how much does it cost to have a tooth extracted?
last yr my co worker called to se how much for a tooth to be extracted-and they told her 45dollars------i researched around alot of places and found anywhere from 45 to 70 for a SIMPLE extraction and a difficult extraction 100 and up!

It depends on where the dentist is located to i found-the nicer the neighborhood and or the office the higher the prices--like anything else i guess--but there is a dental guideline by the state that sets the highest price they can charge for a certain procedure as well and you can look it up for the state you are in by typing it in a search engine..

Reply:alot...I got all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled and it costed about $1200...but it all depends on where you go....but you deff want to go to someone who is good...
Reply:$50 - $125
Reply:ive had a couple teeth taken out, it probably costs around $300 without insurance.. im not sure though
Reply:It depends on whether the dentist can do it or if he has to go to an oral surgeon and get sedated. I had one pulled by an oral surgeon a couple of years ago and it cost several hundred dollars. The dentist would be cheaper. You might check if there are any dental schools nearby; you could probably save some money by having the work done there.
Reply:Mine, here in rural NE Texas, offered three options. Root canal and cap for $700, fill(iffy) for $160, or pull for $85. I took my chances with the filling. Otherwise, I'd had it pulled.

Don't be discouraged. There may still be enough left for the filling.
Reply:JUST TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE BRING A CREDIT CARD WITH. THIS MAY COST SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS TO DO, THERE IS NO WAY TO TELL YOU AN ACCURATE COST SINCE THIS DEPENDS ON WHAT'S DONE, WHO DOES IT AND WHERE THE DENTIST WORKS.
Reply:i got my tooth extracted 5 months ago and it was $90
