Can i still breastfeed after having a tooth filled with local anestesia?
You're good! I had my wisdom teeth taken out by a very knowledgeable, breastfeeding friendly dentist and he cleared me to nurse right away, even after I got some of the local anesthesia into my bloodstream.
Reply:Only if you stand on your head.
Reply:Yes, you can. I had dental work when my son was 4 months old. You're safe.
Reply:a local is localized and will not enter your breastmilk, or bloodstream. i would not worry at all
Reply:absolutely!! nurse away :)

this site is awesome, here's the page on dental work:

Reply:Yes. even if you were given nitrous oxide (laughing gas) during the procedure. I asked the same question to an anesthesiologist that i work with when i had a dental procedure done while i was breastfeeding.
Reply:When my son was four months my dentist stopped working on me so I could nurse right in the chair. I had both a local Anestesia and the laughing gas.
Reply:Yes it's fine. I was told even when pregnant the local anestesia isn't enough to cause harm.
