Becoming a dentist...advice and my chances?

I go to my local community college...I have not much money and I could not afford going to a private university since my parents rely on my salary.

there is no major college in this desert I live in at least not one I can drive back and forth every day.

I'm majoring in finance while taking the required science courses at the same time....my GPA is 3.7

can you give any advice on improving my chances please?

serious answers only.

Becoming a dentist...advice and my chances?
Dentistry has gotten very competitive over the last ten years. Your two years at local community college will not get you in unless you have an amazing DAT score, think like top in nation. All the average's can be found in the links below. GPA is 3.2-3.5 in the core science classes. Your overall GPA is good but how is it in those core science classes? You are working? I hope it's at a dental office because that will look extremely good. The vast majority of dental students have a four year undergraduate degree, plan on getting one to be competitive. It would be worth the federal loans needed. You really need to go work at a dental office, that way you'll know if it's worth all the sacrifices needed to get in or if it turns out you have no passion for that career. Money should not be the only thing to stop you from achieving your goal, the military will gladly pay for all your schooling undergraduate and dental. When done you will owe them however many years they paid for working as a dentist.
Reply:This is the place where you find almost all the answers to your questions - the world wide web, if you know how to search and what you are looking for. There is plenty of information for a specific topic. General questions are usually difficult to answer since you generally want concensus or statistics. Chances of success are great if you work on your dream instead of dreaming the dream, that's what they say. You will find a way on your own if you truly want it bad.
Reply:IM GOING TO GIVE YOU SOME GOOD ADVISE, ALWAYS ACT LIKE YOU KNOE WHAT YOUR DOING EVEN IF YOU FORGET. I WORK FOR A DENTIST, AND HE'S REALLY OUT GOING WITH HIS PAINTENT, MAKE THEM FEEL LIKE THEY ARE AT HOME.BE POLITE AND MAKE SUR THAT THRER FIRST VISIT IS FREE, UNLESS THE WANT THE WORK DONE THEN THY PAY..
Reply:Apply for all state and feral grant's and charity foundation's from the affluent, they give for tax, purposes,

Apply to goverment funding for the betterment on education, and try not to get into financial aid they will hound you for every last cent, with added intrest,

GOOD LUCK to you%26gt;
