My brother's teeth were knocked out. Can he claim compensation?

Hi guys, I need some advice. My 18 year old brother was walking home last Saturday, when 3 hoodies mugged him for a mobile phone and 4 bottles of beer. They kicked him in the face so many times they knocked his front teeth out. His confidence has taken a battering and the unprovoked attack really upset him.

His teeth now have exposed nerves and he is in a lot of pain. No local dentists will take him as they are not accepting new patients, but he can't afford to go private (he's a trainee brick layer and only earns £60 per week). I've offered to pay, but I'm by no means rich, and the money will be taken out of my paltry savings.

I feel that we shouldn't have to pay for the dental work since he was the victim of an unprovoked attack. I'm just wondering whether my brother can claim any compensation for his injuries. The police have been useless, as they haven't even recorded details of the attack on their database (I called for a progress report, and they couldn't find any details).

IF YOU REPORTED THIS AND THERE IS NO RECORD CONTACT YOUR MP,THE POLICE COMPLAINTS DEPT.AND ANYONE ELSE WHO WILL KICK UP A STINK FOR YOU.CRIMINAL INJURIES CAN COMPENSATE YOUR BROTHER, BUT ONLY ON A RECORDED ASSAULT ALSO ASK TO SEE A SENIOR OFFICER IN THE STATION CONCERNED AND MAKE AN OFFICIAL COMPLAINT..
Reply:Don't the police have scheme for criminal injuries,,,they pay so much for certain injuries,,,,Pity you could catch the scum that did it ,and they would be made to pay for your bros,,injuries,,,,and shame on the dentist that wont help repair the damage,,,and let him pay,,,every month or so,,,,,
Reply:i suppose that you could ring one of those no win no fee things even if they say no at least you've tried other than that I'm really not that sure my opinion is that he should get something its not ,like its his fault
