Copies of my dental xrays? I am going over seas and will have my dental work done there?

What is the protocol for obtaining my x-rays from my local dentist in CA? I would like to send them to my foreign dentist before I arrive so he can give ma an estimate of the cost.

They x-rays are yours. You have legal rights to them. Most dentists will copy them, but some dentists will charge $5-10 for the copies to cover the cost of the copy film. However, if they do not have a copier, they should give you the x-rays. However, if you ever have to return to that dentist for work and don't have your x-rays with you, they will have to take new ones and you may have to pay for them.
