amoxycillin and that was it, hospitals wont help me, been told to go to a and e till im seen, or go back to dentist. Doctor refuses to see me. Infection getting worse by the minute, face entirely swollen and it has spread to my lower face now, got a temp and glands are up. help me! rung every local hospital this morning and dentist engaged! im in agony! im leaving work at 3pm to try to get seen somewhere!
Hello again! i need some advice. Got mega infection in my tooth/gums still and dentist fobbed me off with?
You have to get rid of the infection first otherwise it could spread all around your gums. Finish all your antibiotics then go back and see the dentist. But if you're in alot of pain, dont bother ringing the hospitals, just turn up and kick up a stink. Somebody will see you. Is it a wisdom tooth by the way? If it is then most dentists should refer you a dentist that specialises in wisdom teeth. Ordinary dentists dont like to take them out because its complicated and they might break your jaw. In the meantime, take double strength Ibuprofen and a couple of paracetemol. I promise the pain will ease off! Trust me, I know what i'm talking about. I had 3 wisdom teeth out in one sitting last year and i've gotta wait til the 23rd of December to have another one out!!
Hope you get it sorted. Toothache is the worst thing in the world! (ear ache is a pretty close second though!)
Reply:Gargle with pure peroxide and get to a dentist or hospital!
Reply:Pioyreah is incurable and in time you will be giving the BEST blow jobs money can buy sorry but it is a fact...happy hubby though!
Reply:PAIN KILLERS LOTS OF THEM
Reply:Ah, there's nothing worse than tooth ache etc. Try gargling with luke warm salt water. Just get out of work, go to your dentist and demand to be seen. Don't leave until you are. Hospitals never do much anyway but if you go stalk your dentist, fingers crossed he'll realise how bad it is and sort you out. Good Luck love x x x
Reply:walk into a hospital and just collaspe on the floor!
Then they will have to treat you! :o)
Reply:try another dentist.
Reply:find a competent dentist to attest to your plight and sue the first .
you will have a 26% chance of a settlement given u have proof.
good luck I got worse story with the dentist but never mind.
Reply:This sounds horrid - not a normal gum infection for sure. This is a dental problem, so the dentist must see you and sort this out. This is the norm in the UK (if that's where you are) - doctors will not treat dental problems. Keep ringing the dentist until you get through. If they can see you before 3pm then don't wait, go!
Reply:The dentist probably can't do anything until the infection has receded. Amoxycillin will kill the infection but it does take time to work. Take painkillers for a couple of days. It sounds like you've got an abscess.
Go home, take a sickie. Fill a hot water bottle, take more painkillers (ask a chemist for the best one) and go to sleep. You're no good to anyone until the infection dies.
Reply:speaking from experience you need to see a dr that can prescribe stronger anti biotics. amoxillin does not kill all bacterial infections...trust me I really know about dental abscesses and infections. I'm having operation this afternoon to remove infected root having been in pain and on multitudes of anti b's for the past 4 months. Good Luck
Reply:mix equal parts baking soda and dab some damp cotton wool into it then place between tooth and gum where the infection is and leave it in. this will draw out the infection. spit this out and gargle with warm salty water. this worked for me
good luck
Reply:As it is so swollen the dentist should have drained it - u would feel instant relief. Do you have a dental hospital nearby?? if so get there as soon as you can. Hope you feel better soon:)
Reply:if the swelling has spread to the lower part of ure face aswell, they i would suggest, going to the dental practice, forget about an appt just turn up, when the reception staff see the swelling they will not be able to refuse you, i am a dental nurse and we would see anybody with an increasing swelling straight away, if the amoxicillin hasnt helped, they will probably need to make any incision in the abcess to let the pus drain out...
honestly do not delay just turn up at the dentist,,,,
A%E will just fob you off with more painkillers as they cant be bothered wit dental emergency... best of luck
Reply:I hope everyone in the USA who reads these complaints about the NHS will realize that "National Health Care for Everyone" is NOT the way to do things.
Reply:Amoxicillin is specific for this type of infection so keep taking it until it is gone. It should work. How long have you been taking it? If it's been a few days and nothing yet, you may have a more serious problem, but usually just give the antibiotics a chance to work and you should be fine. After the infection is gone, you may need a root canal or an extraction.
Reply:Please do what faders girl said you will then get treated not a nice thing to do only sometimes it can be the only way good luck
